It’s already 1:01am and I’m still up. I was thinking of going to sleep but I somehow stumbled upon a video by Mr. Gary Valenciano (Gary V), one of the Philippine’s top performers, also known as Mr. Pure Energy, with his energetic dance moves and amazing voice.
My sister has always been a fan of Gary V since the 90’s and I too was hooked especially when his fast beat songs Sayaweh and Hataw Na came. To be honest, back then I was only hooked and thought his music was beautiful not realizing, more than 20 years later, I’d be moved differently by these songs, especially Sayaweh — it made me cry.
The Quarantine has somehow given us a time to express more our creativity and for Gary V, his recent video of Sayaweh, which he performed in his own home (with everyone in his house), has gotten once again the attention of many (and when I say many, I mean the world with the many reaction videos I’ve seen recently in YouTube). I just saw it and now here I am sharing this because more than making me cry, the new video released became somehow God’s way of compelling me to write this…
Dear Reader, TONIGHT I AM SHARING TO YOU MY FAITH….
I am a Christian, and I will never — ever– deny that. I write and blog not just because I love writing — but rather I am compelled to use this as my means to share my faith. Why? Because the world needs to know about Jesus and how He loves each and every person and how He wants you, my dear reader, to be with Him and enjoy the abundant life He has planned for you…meaningful and purposeful life…
If you think this Covid-19 has stopped the world, think again…
We may not be able to go out but
Mother Earth is healing,
The world has become intentionally connected and united though physically apart,
There are genuine acts of kindness happening globally,
People are starting to use their talents and skills to bless people and uplift weary hearts,
There are leaders who are rising and providing a good example
…and are even sharing ideas how to help the community,
and the best part would be that people are starting to turn to God for help and refuge.
Genesis 50:20 gives us the scene where Joseph, son of Jacob, faced his brothers who once upon a time did something wrong to him. To them he said: “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”
One day, when this is all over, we will look back at the whole days we were at quarantine and reflect on all you got to enjoy during that given time. What the enemy may have meant for evil, God is using it to give us the shift needed for us to do better in being good stewards of this planet, our talents, and other people.
Seeing Gary V use his talents for Christ is one example how God wanted me to use this time on quarantine. I have an internet access, a laptop, and my faith… and at a time when people need hope the most, the best way I can help is through this blog, my social media accounts, and the gift God gave me to use…
To end this post, here’s a video of Gary V’s Sa Yaweh while in his home. I also included a brief explanation what this song means (at least how I understood it)… by the way this part of my content is edited since last time I promised to add an english translation to the lyrics. A thank you to Mr. Gary V for adding english subtitles. So, to you dear reader, watch, enjoy and take time to reflect as well 🙂 tell me your thoughts too through the comments (or if you have IG my link is just on the side bar). Be blessed dear reader…
What is Sa Yahweh?
Sayaweh is a term coined from the words SAYAW (dance) and YAHWEH (Hebrew name of God used in the Bible). The song is all about us dancing for the Lord and giving Him all the glory and praises together. SaYaweh can be likened to the story of King David when he worshiped the Lord through His dance.
