Writing His Possibilities

It’s funny. I’ve had this blog for more than a decade, but it’s only recently that I finally came across its “missing puzzle piece” — a verse.

A Bible verse acts as an anchor for any Christian doing a project. It sets what the project is about and is considered God’s “go” signal. I’ve been wondering what Chasing Possibilities’ verse should be, especially since this began before I became a Christian as Possibly Maybe Unexpectedly. It was only a few months though that I discovered it — and only now that I get to finish this blog post about it.

Now, let’s start at the very beginning of this journey before I even get to what’s going to happen in this blog.

There’s a Time for Everything

I’ve always been into my career. Looking back this blog came about because of it. I was a copywriter wanting to learn more about SEO, eventually used this for such purposes, until another copywriter told me it could be something else. Later on, as I worked for a different client I turned it into a motivational and inspirational page -sharing what I’ve learned as I fight my negativity.

Then I became a Christian and the rest was history…

If I am to sum how everything came to be I can only say it was “God’s timing and perfect plan”.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens

Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

Who would have thought that as I turn my writing towards motivating myself and others, Jesus Christ would find me? He sets things in motion even when I wasn’t even aware of it.

One simple act of being intentional in sharing positivity turned into someone sharing about Christ’s love for me and why He died on the cross for me. This turned my writing to something else.

Working for His Glory

As a new Christian, and part of the Digital Marketing world as a copywriter, I had a vision — what if this digital marketing thing I do can be turned to sharing who Christ is?

I was part of the media team back then and all I noticed was the church’s Facebook page shared their regular activities — some sort of a diary — rather than turning it into something more…

Imagine if it can be turned into a tool to share Jesus.

That’s what I did with this blog — and the page it once had. I started sharing my faith. But knowing most people are not really into religious stuff, I started using my reflections to share my faith in a way that doesn’t sound too religious… it worked somehow and it attracted a group of which I am currently a part.

Serving the Lord with the ministry team I am with (from a Christian organization) made me also evaluate how’s my career — I saw that even if I’m a writer I can be so much more. Perhaps because I was meeting different people, learning new perspectives, and seeing how God worked in each it led me to think about what else can God do through me.

I wanted to write a book yet here I was as an editor and content strategist.
I wanted to paint yet God even led me to do calligraphy and sell cards.
I can be more and I realized that calling is more than just my profession but rather what God wanted me to do in a certain season.

Thinking of all of these — even before any of my recent breakthroughs this 2023– made me wonder how others who have not yet known Christ pursue their call — how God designed them.

For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

Psalms 139:13-14 Amplified Bible (AMP)

We go around a lot of hustle and bustle yet, thinking that a calling is what we dreamed of becoming. In a way yes it is — but in God’s perspective, there is so much more.

Chasing Possibilities

Possibilities – we all look at it differently. We either look at it from a perspective of difficulty therefore limiting ourselves of what could be or we look at it from a perspective of ambition therefore risking it all to get what we dreamed of.

…but for a Christian who has surrendered his or her life to Jesus, it’s so much more.

I decided on the name Chasing Possibilities after a friend offered to sponsor a website and asked me to write the content. It was the first thing that popped in my head after realizing that Possibly Maybe Unexpectedly was too long (and it sounded like a movie title). But as I officially took it as my own and continued my blog instead of writing for that other website, I saw how similar both titles convey — it speaks of possibilities.

As a Christian, I learned to see problems as learning opportunities and breakthroughs as stewardship. One doesn’t mean the absence of God nor does the other mean the very absence of problems. Both of these have God in them and that what’s makes these shape who we will be in the next season or to respond to the next call God has for us.

It’s sad to think that most people don’t recognize that the possibilities worth pursuing are in Christ. I have been blinded as well by my career as my calling only to be given sight of what matters most — the now God wanted me to work on. Eventually, that made me see how I wanted Chasing Possibilities to be.

I am a woman of many interests. I love art, I love music, I love dramas, I love books, writing, traveling, and more and I want to write about them all. However, I’ve been blinded by just focusing my blog on a specific niche — only to realize I don’t have to.

I’m writing for the Lord. I’m sharing what He’s done in my life. I’m writing about my thoughts, my dreams, and my experiences in hopes they can bless someone. I’m sharing because I know I was called to share His glory in my life — and hopefully in others too.

Chasing Possibilities is all about chasing the possibilities God has for each of us after all. Now this is where the realization of what this blog’s verse is:

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

We can never really tell what’s in the future. We are only pursuing the visions He gave us, but not according to our plans or timeline but His. We can only say YES to what He has now and trust He’s got it all.

We can make plans of course for Him to bless but in the end, we must be willing to submit to what He wants. Somehow He surprises us with a plot twist that turns out to be better than what we hoped for.

He Makes Everything Beautiful In His Time

So there, a verse that acts as an anchor. To be honest I’m using it also for an art profile Sweet Serendipity, especially with the journey I had in making it happen.

God makes everything beautiful in His time and it’s full of surprises…

So instead of limiting what to share or focusing on a niche, whether this will share stories of faith or perhaps trade copywriting secrets or post my art, it doesn’t matter — these are all who God made me to be through His time.

This post was started and written on a whim of whatever words come to mind. And I pray that whoever reads this either by accident or intentionally wants to read my blog, I hope this blesses you.

May you see the possibilities God has for you as well not only on a single dream you want to pursue but on the now He has planted you to bless and thrive.

God is there in every second, every minute, and every second of our lives.

Soli Deo Gloria!

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
