His Time for Answered Prayers

Time

It’s the most valuable commodity we all have in common. It’s priceless that we should not waste it.

These past few years, I have valued “time” more than ever, although, as human as I am, I too fail to fully take the reigns of every moment— being too lazy to do things that enhances me and touches my core. There are still moments where I allowed myself to be distracted by things, including fear of inadequacy, which wills me away from what truly matters. But just like the many “lows” I’ve experienced, this is where God’s faithfulness comes in.

God’s Faithfulness In This Season

God Continues to Provide for My Needs

If there’s something “different” I did this time, it’s that I allowed myself to focus on one client rather than have several. For those who know me personally, this is something new — and to be honest it’s something scary for me too.

Being the primary financial provider in our household, my extra gigs helped a lot. However, considering how God has given me a position I prayed for, in a company I never thought I’d get in, I realized this is the best time to further practice my trust that God will provide for me.

I decided to quit my other freelance and focused on the position, company, and opportunity God himself has led me to. And just as soon as I let go of my freelance, He provided more through a promotion — thus granting me not only an increase in finances but more opportunities to share the lessons I’ve learned and also to be mentored as well by my own supervisor.

Since I quit the night shift freelance gig, it also gave me more time to use for other endeavors.

Using God’s Provision

“There’s a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Years ago, I would not have spent money on items and activities to pursue my interests. I would consider these essentials but not urgent. I’d place these all on hold, pray over them, and just spend my money for the family. However, as I acknowledged how God exceedingly provided for me this year, I know this was also His way of opening doors for me. I finally invested in the following:

  • My premium blog account subscription
  • A URL renewal
  • Premium art brushes, canvasses, paints, and other materials
  • A mobile plan subscription
  • and A language course

These were things I used to just pray for. I hoped on these for years. But just as how Ecclesiastes 3:11 also reminded us of God’s timing, I saw how He did give me time to pursue these — all at the same time.

Stepping Out In Faith

Speaking of God’s timing, I recently pursued a desire I’ve had since I was a little girl — study a different language.

I wanted to travel other nations and meet people more people (despite my introvertedness). More than this, I’ve always wanted to learn another language (other than the languages here in the Philippines). Surprisingly this year, I was able to enroll on, not just one but two language classes.

Wanting to just shut the “what-if” in my head (What if I studied and speak a different language other than what I already know), I took a leap of faith — reminded by an advise from one of the professors in IGSL:

If you have the brains, the resources, and the time, then you should take the course.

During the time she shared this lesson, I was in my second year of law school. Remembering what she told me then made me realize I have all three — so why not enroll.

… and just like that I took a leap of faith– and both classes are fully paid. Hopefully I get to have a one-on-one tutorial instead of a class (and I’m entrusting this desire to the Lord).

Using the Gifts God has Blessed Me With

I’m a woman with many interests and one of these (praise God He also gave me this gift) is paining.

I tried canvass painting a few years back but felt I was better with watercolor. This time though — and after purchasing my acrylic painting materials — I’m at it again and I’m enjoying it.

Just recently I finished two acrylic paintings and now I’ve purchased bigger canvasses to work on and explore other techniques. Perhaps one day I can have these exhibited…but of course all in God’s time.

Trusting God’s Time

Everything does have a time.

This week I am more reminded of trusting God more with His time. Years ago (some even more than a decade) all of these were just prayers. Some even I’ve forgotten about. But there are really those I’ve envisioned clear, not knowing when they will happen.

There are still some things I am trusting God with. And while my current reality says it may be impossible, I trust that like these things I am now pursuing, one day, will be a reality. But till then I pray to be a good steward of what God has entrusted at present and to trust Him even more as I wait.

Right now, I can only praise Him for these opportunities.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
